Supergirl advances to top price for 266,000 Euro

Münster: The Westphalian Spring Auction was held for the first time in the form of an OnLive auction. 58 riding horses and five foals were up for sale this evening in Münster-Handorf. Unchallenged at the top of the price structure was the daughter of Sir Heinrich, Supergirl, with the head number 1. At the hammer price of 266,000 euros, she changed to Austrian ownership. With a hammer price of 25,000 Euros, the pony foal Chica Bonita B by DSP Cosmo Royale was particularly popular.

A true superhero from Münster-Handorf is the head number 1 of this auction lot. With the significant name Supergirl, the chestnut mare captivated everyone from the very beginning of the auction! Awarded with the State Premium title, she was the Reserve Champion Mare of the Westphalian Elite Show last year. The four-year-old Sir Heinrich/Laureus-daughter (breeder: Berthold Völker, Ahaus; exhibitor: Christoph Rawert, Coesfeld-Lette) convinces with three excellent basic gaits and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of quality and future prospects. The bidding duel, which took place between three customers online at the screens and one customer party in the auction hall in Münster-Handorf, was long. In the end, customers from Austria had the longest breath on the screen and bought the beautiful mare at the outstanding hammer price of 266,000 euros. The competition and championship season can start with this horse!

In the group of jumping auction candidates, the customers liked particularly the head number 12. Titan SR (breeder: Jean-Loup, France; exhibitor: SR Sportpferde, Leipzig) convinced with quality and a very good manner at the jump. This son of Tornesch/Cornet Obolensky has already been well established in competitions and has been placed highly up to the medium level competitions. He changed hands at the hammer price of 48,000 Euros and will continue his sport career in Germany.

One pony was for sale in this auction lot. The four-year-old licensed son of Dating AT NRW/Vincent (breeder: Adolf-Theo Schurf, Bedburg; exhibitor: Designed 4 Dressage Ltd., England) has the significant name Designed to Dance. He was worth 21,000 euros to his new owners. Already victorious in tests for young riding horses, he impressed with above-average basic gaits and excellent rideability.

Of the 58 riding horses offered for the auction, around three quarters changed hands. The international clientele invested an average of 31,583 Euros. The Westphalian Stud Book realized a total turnover of 1,326,500 euros. Twelve of the horses sold will continue to be promoted outside of Germany in the future.

Even before Supergirl entered the auction hall this evening, the auction was opened by a small but fine lot of the youngest Westphalians. Five foals made the start this evening. With the head number 105, a pony foal danced its way into the hearts of the audience. The daughter of the three-time Bundeschampion DSP Cosmo Royal was bred by Dietmar Boom, Legden, out of the St.Pr.St. Golden Sunlight B by FS Golden Moonlight. At the hammer price of 25,000 Euros, the Palomino mare will grow up in Germany. Four of the five foals on offer changed hands this evening. On average, customers invested 17,125 Euros in their future hopes.

For the first time, the Spring Auction in Münster-Handorf took place in the form of an OnLive auction. Bids could be placed live on site, on the phone as well as online at onlineauction.westfalenpferde.de. The organizer's summary of this is positive: "After the long time-out of live auctions in the past years, the spectators are happy to be able to be there live again. Nevertheless, online bidding has a promising future. We are glad to have the opportunity to combine both auction models with our partner HORSE24", says auction manager Thomas Münch. With the help of the online auction platform, the following new feature can also be offered afterwards: The horses that could not find a new owner this evening will remain at the Westphalian Horse Center in Münster-Handorf. They will be offered again in a 2nd chance online auction. The auction lot will be available for viewing online from Monday, April 3. The horses can be tried out in Münster-Handorf until April 11. Then the online auction will end with the BidUp starting at 7.30 pm.
